Merab Dvalishvili's visit at GZAAT

On the 17th of February, a famous UFC fighter with the nickname “The Machine” visited GZAAT. Winner of the UFC championship in Bantamweight, Merab Dvalishvili is regarded as one of the best fighters in his weight. At the weekly assembly, Sophomore Viko Dolidze and Freshman Luka Chkhartishvili, announced exciting news about the following Monday’s guest speaker. Everyone was excited on the day, clapping and shouting in the hallways, patiently waiting for two o’clock.
When the time came, students and teachers gathered in the auditorium, waiting for the star. When he entered, everyone was taking pictures and videos, shouting “Merab” continuously and applauding him. Merab answered many questions students had, talking about his career, the championship and his future goals. It was definitely an unforgettable moment.
As mentioned before, this event was organized by two of our students, who contacted Merab and asked him to come. They mentioned that Merab’s appearance had a big impact on students and teachers, as well. “With the winter colds and lots of homework, it seemed like people lacked motivation and the spirit had become a bit dull. Bringing a star, like Merab to guest speak at the school, was a way to excite people and motivate them, Luka said, so, it was definitely a great move”.
The initial idea to bring Merab to school was when Luka and Viko, alongside some friends, were watching his title fight with Sean O’malley. As a promise, Luka said that if Merab won, he would do everything he could to bring him to school. Viko doubted at first, but fortunately, the Georgian fighter won and they started to fulfill their promise.
Overall, this event was very enjoyable for everyone. Merab Dvalishvili is a well-known and an admired fighter from Georgia, who has had incredible accomplishments in UFC. In the end, people had a chance to ask for autographs, leaving the school amazed, with a day they’ll never forget!
