With Great Sadness

It is with great sadness that we must share heartbreaking news — after a short illness, our beloved and remarkable colleague, our Russian language teacher, Maiko Khadouri, has passed away this morning.
It has been more than twenty years since Maiko began teaching at the academy. Over this time, she earned the heartfelt love and respect of our entire community.
The American Academy is deeply saddened by this loss and extends its deepest condolences to Maiko’s family, friends, and former and current students.
May her kind and beautiful soul find eternal peace.
