American Academy students at NHSMUN 2025 in New York

March 21, 2025

On March 10-14 this year, the students of the Guivy Zaldastanishvili American Academy in Tbilisi participated in the National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) conference in New York for the 12th time, continuing a proud tradition of engaging with this incredible event!

This year, our students represented Myanmar in various committees, engaging in discussions on pressing global political issues.

The conference began with a grand opening ceremony featuring a choir performance, followed by an inspiring speech from President Joe Biden. He addressed meaningful topics, offering guidance to the next generation and emphasizing that the future of the world is in our hands.

As part of this initiative, our students had the opportunity to connect with young people from around the globe, joining over 1,000 participants in an international setting.

Within the framework of the program, our students became acquainted with the nuances of the work of the United Nations, gained experience in public speaking, learned to present resolutions and amendments. By the end of the program, our students obtained the United Nations Modeling Program international certificates.

We would like to thank the Ambassador of Georgia to the United Nations, USA, David Bakradze, for hosting our students and facilitating an engaging discussion.

We are incredibly proud of our students’ dedication and enthusiasm.
