GeographySTEM Summer Program

GeographySTEM is an exciting, free 9-day summer program for Tbilisi public school students, organized jointly by the Guivy Zaldastanishvili American Academy 11th-grade students. Under the supervision of the school’s physics teacher, Ilia Mestvirishvili, this program aims to provide a unique learning experience for 7th and 8th-grade students from Tbilisi public schools. The focus areas include biology, chemistry, and physics.

Program Details:

• Dates: June 17 to June 28

• Location: American Academy classrooms

• Class Schedule:

- Classes start at 10:00 am and end at 1:00 pm.

- No classes on Saturdays, Sundays, and Friday, June 21.

-  Each day, students will have three 45-minute lessons.

-  There will be a 10-minute break between classes, as well as a longer 35-minute lunch break.

• Language of Instruction: All lessons will be conducted in Georgian.

• Teaching Team: Twelve outstanding American Academy students will lead the sessions.

• Curriculum:

- The program follows the American curriculum.

- Students will also learn about the Harkness method, a collaborative and discussion-based teaching approach.

- The focus on STEM subjects (chemistry, biology, and physics) will provide additional knowledge and skills.

• Supervision: Throughout the program, organizers will closely supervise the children.

• Transportation: Unfortunately, transportation cannot be provided.

Limited Spots:

• The program is open to 30 students.
