Field Trips
November 24, 2021
Due to the prolonged pandemic, the American Academy students were unable to make friends or socialize. We believe that physical activities are just as vital as academics in the educational process. To that purpose, we have planned a series of field trips during which students had the opportunity to visit locations that demanded some physical activity.
We have created a very well-organized sightseeing program, scouted the locations in advance, and selected areas that required a good amount of hiking. We have allocated two weeks to such activities. All grade levels have been divided into small groups to travel to various destinations with school leaders.
The academy’s Junior High School students went on a field trip in groups. The first group of students visited Rkoni Monastery and the Panoramic Saorbisa Ruins, while the second - went to Ateni Sioni. Freshmen class visited Mravaltskharo's colorful desert, Gareja, and an outstanding archeological complex in the heart of Caucasus - Samshvilde. Sophomores went to Ujarma and Bochorma city-fortresses, Tana Valley, Dolochopi Basilica, and Nekresi Monastery. While Juniors visited Birtvisi canyon, the oldest historical Samshvilde Complex, and beautiful Rkoni, and its oldest monastery. Senior class hiked an outstanding archaeological complex Samshvilde, Tana valley, and Rkoni fortress.
Despite the restrictions and health safety standards that our students were expected to follow, they enjoyed every minute of their time together.
