American Academy Drama Club Debut
June 23, 2025
On June 18, the Guivy Zaldastanishvili American Academy proudly presented a student-led theater performance at City Theater, marking the exciting debut of its newly formed Drama Club.
Founded earlier this year, the club— Actors Circle—was created by alumni Maria Giorgobiani and Ellen Dumbadze as a space for students to explore acting, storytelling, and self-expression through theater.
Under the artistic direction of guest director Tinatin Tsuladze, the club quickly grew into a vibrant community filled with energy, laughter, and creative growth.
Throughout the semester, students rehearsed weekly, hosted guest speakers, and took part in masterclasses with theater professionals. The final performance showcased not just their talent but their passion, teamwork, and creativity.
The play presented at City Theater was an original production titled "Jurors," inspired by the famous work "12 Angry Men". The play explores themes of justice, the importance of reasonable doubt, and the strengths and weaknesses of the jury system.
More than just an after-school club, Actors Circle became a space to grow, connect, and celebrate the magic of theater together.
Congratulations to the drama club on their first performance and we look forward to more exciting productions to come!
