The Guivy Zaldastanishvili American Academy in Tbilisi congratulates its students, the Firelink team members - Lizi Ebralidze, Irina Panjavidze, Barbare Tetvadze, Temo Kikava, Damiane Kapanadze - and the American Academy's Physics teacher and team instructor, Ilia Mestvirishvili, for winning the eighth annual Millennium Innovations Award.

The American Academy team, Firelink, won second place for building a network of low-cost stations that monitor forest fires early on by utilizing microtechnology and sensors.

Because of this accomplishment, Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA) will sponsor our students' participation in the iD Tech Camp at Stanford University in the United States next summer.

The American Academy extends its heartfelt congratulations to all contestants and the winners of the Millennium Innovations Award, namely, the members of the teams "LIGGA," “Mad Scientist," and "Atemporal," and wishes them continued success in their future endeavors!
