Graduation Ceremony

The Guivy Zaldastanishvili American Academy in Tbilisi held its fifteenth Annual Graduation Ceremony on June 8, 2019, at 12:00 P. M. at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire Grand Hall.
This year the American Academy graduated 74 students.
The American Academy’s Director, Andrés J. Cruz, was the graduation speaker. Among the invited guest were the graduating class family members and the trustees of the school. Badri Japaridze, the trustee of the American Academy, addressed the graduating seniors.
The graduates of the class of 2019 garnered 138 college acceptances worldwide and over $2.5 million in scholarships.
Two of the 74 graduates were awarded The Thomas and Faculty Medals: The Thomas Medal was awarded to Lia Mikhelashvili - “the senior who has demonstrated exemplary character and scholarship over the course of their studies at the GZAAT,” and The Faculty Medal received Nikoloz Gegechkori - “the student whose love of learning, intellectual curiosity and strength of character have enriched our lives as teachers and affirmed us in the sanctity of our chosen profession.”
This year Sopho Kevlishvili was named valedictorian of the class of 2019.
At the end of the ceremony, the graduating seniors sang the school anthem for the last time.
